Field House: In 1994 the board of Directors recognized the fact that we had several individuals who did not require the level of support provided in Hope Farm Residence but who required a greater level of support than we were able to offer in our Independent Living Program. A stepping stone was missing and the board undertook to fill the gap by purchasing a five bedroom home just west of Hope Farm. . The home was named Field House in honour of a very dedicated board member Dorothy Field. In 1998 the garage was made into a large family
room, and the room was dedicating in memory of Marion Arrowsmith. Marion and
her husband Bill Arrowsmith had started a volunteer group called W.I.S.H (Working
In Support of the Handicapped) to raise funds for developmentally handicapped
individuals on Manitoulin. W.I.S.H.donated the funds for the renovation. |
