The log cabin is a distinctive feature of the village, with its shingle roof, wooden eavestrough and period furniture. Originally built around 1880 near Hwy 542, this log cabin was moved on skids by teams of horses in 1914 to a spot closer to the lake, where it was occupied as late as the 1960's. In 1993, the cabin was dismantled and moved to the museum site.
