This group began in 1981, when Mindemoya resident Trudy Watts started teaching rug hooking.

In 1995 twelve of us started the friendship rug project, which involves each of us hooking one 8" x 8" square. Altogether twelve rugs are to be done, two per year, and each finished rug will be raffled off until every participant has won one. The tenth one is now in the making. Seven of our completed friendship rugs are shown here.

We have exhibited and demonstrated our craft at the Harbour Centre in Providence Bay and various museums throughout the Island.
We are now a group of approximately twenty women, who meet once a month to socialize, show our projects, discuss new designs and different techniques and generally consult each other and enjoy ourselves.
